Like many other "Second Gens," children of Holocaust survivors, Dave Clarke struggled to find a way to reconcile his parents' extraordinary, and often difficult, life with his own understanding of the world around him.
Keeping Hannah Waiting is Clarke's attempt to take a lifetime of lessons' learned and apply them to make sense of his heritage, of the legacy of the Holocaust, and to find a new way to make this horrible tragedy relevant and palatable to audiences young and old.
Educated at UCLA, Clarke has built a successful career as a magazine writer and editor covering a diverse range of topics from business and technology to travel, education, food and wine, and many other areas of interest.
Born in Manhattan, Clarke was raised on Long Island, growing up in Glen Cove and Smithtown.
He lives in San Jose, California where, with his wife of 32 years, he helped raise two beautiful daughters.
Clarke's writing career has taken him all over the world, including more than three dozen countries and most of the United States to interview chief executive officers from many of the Fortune 500. His exclusive interviews include the CEOs of Boeing, Barclays, HP, Playboy, UPS, NASDAQ, and celebrities such as Oscar and Grammy-winners Celine Dion and Kenny Loggins.
His writing credits include thousands of articles for newspapers and magazines worldwide.
